Jamis Nova Pro Di2 Bike 2013 Description:
Whether you're looking for a new bike to explore the stretches of your local trail system, or gearing up to dominate the regional race circuit, the Nova Pro Di2 is a versatile, drool-worthy rig that leaves nothing but a trail of dust and desire in it's wake
For the cx rider looking to push the limits of their riding past the edge of normal, the Nova Pro Di2 gives you the tools to nurture your penchant for speed while conquering terrain you used to avoid on a road bike
The Nova Pro is constructed with 7005 double-butted aluminum featuring a tapered head tube and a portage formed top tube
Jamis employs their Cross fork made with a carbon composite 1-piece monocoque design with a tapered steerer and post disc brake mounts
It's then time to swing your leg over and get personal with Ultegra Di2
The Ultegra Di2 shifters are more ergonomic due to the fact that they don't have to be built around a mechanical system
The lower volume shape and 10mm of reach adjustability enables proper fit for a wider range of hand sizes
Since we are creatures of habit, the shift buttons are positioned exactly the same as the mechanical Ultegra group, so no ""getting used to"" needed there
The biggest difference is the greatly reduced effort needed to make a shift
Instead of pushing the lever, you now merely make the same effort as clicking a computer mouse
Where Di2 really shines is in its derailleurs
The front and rear derailleurs are programmed to communicate seamlessly to provide faster, smoother, and more accurate shifts at the touch of a button
You'll see and feel the biggest difference over a mechanical set-up is in the front shifting
The front derailleur always knows the location of the chain on the cassette, allowing it to automatically move or trim the cage to one of 6 positions, virtually eliminating irritating chain rub
Again, there is no adjusting cable tension to compensate for increased friction, leaving little to no room for human error
One handy feature to mention about the rear derailleur is, that should you run out of battery, (which you're given ample of indication before this should happen) , the rear derailleur will automatically move the chain to the biggest sprocket, ensuring you the easiest gear for pedaling home
You should know that the rear derailleur has the capacity to handle a 28 tooth rear sprocket
Lastly, the Shimano Ultegra Di2 uses a rechargeable Lithium Ion battery that fully charges in 90 minutes (1 1/2 hour) , and lasts approximately 1,000 miles before needing to be recharged
The Ultegra and Dura-Ace Di2 groups use the same battery and charger, allowing it to be used on either or
Upon purchasing the Nova Pro Di2, the Jenson USA bike build team will fully charge your battery so that the bike is ready to ride out of the box
Ritchey takes control of the cockpit with a Comp 4-axis stem, Comp Logic Curve handlebars, and a Road Carbon seatpost, joined by a Selle San Marco Concor saddle
The Nova Pro gallops on Alex CXD3 wheels with custom Alex graphics
Alex CXD3 26mm aero rims are laced to disc hubs with Japanese sealed bearings
Jamis wrapped the Alex CXD3 wheels with Vittoria Cross XG Pro folding tires, keeping weight low and your speed high
Once you're ready to brake, the Avid BB7 disc brakes provide confidence and control in your stopping power as you make your way down
It's safe to say the Jamis Nova Pro Di2 is a ""serious"" tool for ""serious"" podium hunters, KOM chasers, and thrill seekers alike
